LAY UP YOUR TREASURE

      LAY UP YOUR TREASURE

We live in a society where  our

value is based on material things.

Jesus stresses the danger of placing our con-

fidence in things of material value, neglecting

our spiritual needs.

In Matthew 6:19-21, Jesus says, "Do not

lay up for yourselves treasures on earth,

where moth and rust destroy and where

thieves break in and steal: but lay up for

yourselves treasures in heaven, where

neither moth nor rust destroy and where

thieves do not break in and steal." "For

where your treasure is, there your HEART

will be also."

Jesus is telling us that things of a material

nature are only temporal, and some day

will vanish away.

We all have our material  needs but it is

very  important that we do not  conduct

our lives in such a way that we miss

living eternally with God in heaven.

John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world,

that He gave His only begotten Son, that

whosoever believes in Him, should not per-

ish, but have everlasting life."

We sing a song which says, "Careless soul,

why will you linger wandering from the

the fold of God? O hear you the invita-

tion of God, prepare to meet your

GOD!"

Let God's great love for the world

move you to surrender to His will and

be ready to meet Him in the Judgement.
