NAMES AND TITLES OF CHRIST
NAMES AND TITLES OF CHRIST
Think of the darkness that held the world
in its grip before Jesus came to give man
God's glorious light.
The scriptures of the Bible give Jesus a
few titles that express His reason for being
sent to the earth. The following titles are
given Him as one reads the Bible:
1. He is called the SON OF GOD. (Mark 1:1)
2. In (Matthew 1:23) He is called EMANUEL,
which means GOD WITH US.
3. Often, Jesus refered to himself as THE
SON OF MAN (Matthew 25:31).
4. In (John 1:29) Jesus is called, "THE LAMB
OF GOD."
5. In (Luke 2:11) Jesus is called (A SAVIOUR).
6. Peter refers to Jesus as the (DELIVERER)
(1 Peter 2:9)
7. Paul, the apostle speaks of Jesus as a
(REDEEMER) (Galatians 3:15)
8. In (1 Timothy 2:4-5), Paul calls Jesus the
(ONLY MEDIATOR) between man and God the
Father.
9. In (Matthew 2:17), Jesus refers to Himself as
(A PHYSICIAN). He can heal the sin sick soul.
10. In (Hebrews 4:12) the writer calls Jesus
(CAPTAIN OF OUR SALVATION).
All of these titles show that man needs the
person of Jesus in his life in order to have a
personal relation with the Almighty God!
The process of entering into this relation is
the same as it was in the first century.
1. The sinner hears the good news
about Jesus and what He came into this
world to do.
2. Upon hearing the good news, one
believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
3. This faith motivates the sinner to repent and
to confess his belief in Jesus as God's Son.
4. Then, the sinner has the privilege of being
baptized (immersed) into Christ for the
forgivness of his sins (Acts 2:38) and at
this time he is added to the church that
Jesus built. (Acts 2:47)
5. At this point, the new creature in Christ
begins his relation with God and grows
spiritually day by day as he reads the
scriptures and is led by the Holy Spirit
to live a life that glorifies God.
WHAT A GREAT OFFER GOD STILL MAKES
TO ALL MEN EVERYWHERE WHO WILL ONLY
ACCEPT IT!!!!!!
