               OLD TESTAMENT EXAMPLES

    Though Christians are no longer under the law,

we should become familiar with the scriptures of

the Old Testament. We learn of the character of God

and his love and concern for the welfare of man.

(In  Romans 15:4), Paul, the apostle, wrote referring

to the Old Testament, " Whatsoever things were

written aforetime were written for our learning,

that through patience and through comfort of

the scriptures we might have hope."

The scriptures of the Old Testament from

Genesis to Malachi speak of the coming

of Christ. The scriptures of the New Testament

give proof that He came in fulfillment of the

promise of God spoken of in the Old

Testament.

The reference that we hear  so often as "The

Gospel" is really the good news that our

Saviour, Jesus  Christ  has come and

offers salvation to all who will accept Him.

They develop a faith that leads them

 to obey His command to repent and be

baptized for the forgiveness of sins and

enter into  the family of God.

Because a person loves and appreciates

what God provides for us in Christ, he has

the privilege of being led by the Holy Spirit

and a continued study of the  Bible.

May God grant us the security that the

Christian life provides us.
