HOW CAN WE COME TO A KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH?

| | Comments (0)

How Do We Come To A Knowledge Of  The Truth?

Truth is a huge Bible subject. It is a moral, therefore a spiritual subject.

To consult the wrong source can lead to eternal separation from God.

The opposite of truth is a lie. Jesus said the devil is a liar and the father of

it. (JOHN 8:44)

When we hear the term "church" as described in the New Testament,

we should also think of the truth. In 1 Timothy 3:15, Paul (inspired by the

Holy Spirit) describes the church as "the pillar and ground of the truth."

While it is true that the church did not create truth, it is responsible for

defending and standing on truth. The statement,"come to the knowledge

of the truth" is used by Paul in his letters to Timothy.

It is  sad that there are still people like Paul describes as those that are

"ever learning and never able to come to a knowlege of the truth.                          " In our time we can see this same thing happening. Many blind pretensious, commercial socalled preachers are thriving materially

as they ignore the teachings of the New Testament but with their charm

build up big churches  with those who like them, have never

taken the time to seriously search for truth.

Man must prove all things and hold to that which is good in the

eyes of God.      Byrl Brockman

CAN WE KNOW THE TRUTH?

                                        CAN WE KNOW THE TRUTH?

In John 8:32,, Jesus reminds us that truth will liiberate us from the bondage of

of sin and make us free to do God's will. Ignorance does not nor can it free one

of the responsibility of being in search of this freedom. In John 18;37 Pillate asked

Jesus, "Are you a king then?" Jesus answered the question ,"Every one who is of the truth hears my voice." Piilate showed no intention of hearing the voice of Jesus.

There are those who say, "There is no truth." That statement would have to be false

in a world where truth does not exist. Everything can be classified  as absolutely true or

absolutely fallse.

The devil tries to change absolutes in the mind of man. In Isaiah 5:20 God says,"Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil.; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter."

May we all recognize that truth still stands every test.

The Truth is Still Relevant Today

Truth is the main theme of the Bible from Genesis to the last book of the Bible.

No one can claim to be a Christian, nor claim to know about God or the Holy

Spirit apart from bibical, spiritual truth. In Deuteronomy 32:4 He is called,"a God of

truth." In John 14:6 Jesus says, "I am the truth". In John 16:13, Jesus calls the Holy

Spirit  "the Spirit of truth."To abandon truth is to relinquish all claims to Salvation.

While truth is demanded in our legal system as an oath before giving testamony, while we demand truth in advertising, man seems less concerned about spiritual truth.

It ks very important that followers of Christ bear the banner of Christ if for no other reason, it will be our judge in the last day.
